We are very sad to share that Dr. Victor Sidel, a former Public Health Solutions Board Member and a current Emeritus Board member, passed away recently. His life and career’s work in public health were impressive and noteworthy, and we were fortunate to have his talent on the PHS Board.
This year is expected to be a banner year for the smoke-free movement. Much of that is a result of the significant policy changes and incredible tobacco-control strides we made last year. Our 2017 “Year-in-Review” shows how far we’ve come since the NYC Smoke-Free Air Act of 2002.

On the morning of Friday, November 17, Queens College hosted a Business Forum Breakfast entitled “After the ACA, What?” Public Health Solutions President and CEO, Lisa David was honored to serve as a guest panelist at this forum.
We are excited to announce the opening of a new Neighborhood WIC Center in Ridgewood, Queens. We were joined by Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez, Assemblyman Michael Miller, Myrtle Avenue BID, Queens Community Board 5, and many more community partners and staff to officially celebrate the grand opening.
We recently held a graduation for families who completed our Nurse-Family Partnership® (NFP) program this year. Not only are our graduates super heroes, we believe our dedicated nurses home visitors are heroes as well.
